Explanation of Title

Special Note: The incidence of cigarette smoking in the general public in the U.S. is about 20-25%. Of those with schizophrenia, it is about 80-90%. It is not that smoking cigarettes causes schizophrenia, but rather that the nicotine in the cigarettes help reduce so of the symptoms of schizophrenia. I self-medicate with cigarettes particularly to off-set some of the cognitive problems I have due to the illness. I find that nicotine especially improves my concentration problems.
