Business, Procrastination, and the RNC
I'm sorry I haven't written in a few days. I have been so incredibly busy preparing for a new speech I'm giving. I will give out the details soon. Also, in addition to working hard, I have been procrastinating work by going to coffee shops and chatting with people. It has been a lot of fun, but now I'm really trying to get back to work. Besides, there is much to do!
This morning I was at a coffee shop, and I met a nice gentleman who is in town to see the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. He said he might be able to get me a pass so that I can go to it later in the week. I am unsure if it will be that much fun, but I know it will certaintly be an experience that I shouldn't turn down. I will let you know how it goes.
I have to get back to writing a speech, but I will try to write a little bit more later.

Andrew,
I finished your book. Congratulations on a wonderful and honest account of what it is like to be living with and recovering from Schizophrenia. It was helpful to read about how you experience yourself. I am a therapist and my son is in treatment for schizoaffective disorder. Even with all of the exposure I have had to mental health, it is still impossible to experience what you and my son, Dillon, each in your own individual ways, must be going through. Your book is a gift to all parents who are trying to have empathy and understand what their children are experiencing. I particularly liked your additional comments/thoughts in the book when you delved more deeply into things.
If you are comfortable, I would like to know where you had "treatment". I am doing a little research about treatment programs in the Twin Cities.
Thanks again and good luck on your speech writing. Jan

Thank you for the kind words. I would rather not tell you where I had treatment in the past, as I had some rather "unhelpful" experiences that I describe in the book, and I would rather not "name names." Currently, I am being seen at the University of Minnesota, and that has been the treatment that has made all the difference.
